Following the departure of Professor Sir Bruce Ponder, Dr Lewis Chodosh has taken on the role of as Editor-in-Chief to continue the journal's success as it enters its second decade. Over the past year, Dr. Chodosh and his colleagues from the University of Pennsylvania have made significant progress in understanding the molecular basis for breast cancer progression as well as the protective effect of pregnancy on breast cancer risk.
Speaking of his appointment as Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Chodosh said "I am honoured and delighted to have the opportunity to carry on the work that Bruce has done so much to advance. Breast Cancer Research is blessed with an exceptional Editorial Board as well as an outstanding editorial staff and this has resulted in a steep upward trajectory in the quality of the reviews and original research published in BCR. As a consequence, we are now poised to markedly expand the reach of this promising journal."
To mark the tenth anniversary eminent researchers, Editorial Board members, authors and reviewers will gather at the AACR's Annual Meeting to celebrate the journal's first ten years of success and to welcome Dr Chodosh as the new Editor-in-Chief.
Past Editor-in-Chief Professor Ponder has published an editorial to commemorate the anniversary. The editorial features on a special edition CD-ROM that highlights some of the journal's most popular articles from its first ten years
Commenting on the journal's first ten years Professor Ponder said "It has been a privilege as well as very enjoyable to work with such an excellent in-house publishing team and Editorial Board, to launch the Journal and then to see it grow in scope and stature. I believe we have successfully filled the role that we envisaged, which is to span from excellent science to clinical application. My thanks to everyone who has helped in our success. I am delighted to be able to hand over to someone of the stature and ability of Lewis Chodosh, and I am confident that the Journal will have even greater impact under his leadership".
